Verifact is an open protocol for verifying facts. It's designed to get authentic fact-checks on the news without bias.
Anyone can submit articles or tweets to the Verifact platform for fact-checking.
Verifact lets users vote on the factuality by staking tokens towards the verdict they deem true. If you stake tokens on the verdict that is deemed factual by the network, you will gain more tokens from those who voted opposite to you.
This creates a market for authentic fact-checking of news. It arms readers with knowledge for a rapidly changing world. And, in that process, shows who is engaging in legitimate journalism, and who isn't.
Our mission is to accelerate the search for truth.
We are doing this by bringing reliable and unbiased fact checks to the world.
We aim to make the process as simple as possible, and it will be fully transparent to ensure maximum objectivity. Currently the beta is running on a central server, but the plan is to deploy the smart contract to the Ethereum blockchain with tokens, to replace the current "points" system.
Verifact is not owned by a major media company.
